Contest Everyone!

Yep, you read it right! I am running my very first Fashion Re-View Contest.

The contest is simple and straight (however, it is exclusive to people in my locality – Cagayan de Oro), who can give his/her own fashion/beauty advice/tips?

What do you need? -Well you don’t have to be a fashion guru to participate, as long as you have your tips and advice that pertains to beauty and fashion then you’re ready to go. Word requirement? –None! 100-word, 200 or even a thousand, what’s important is you convey your idea clearly.

So you have it, how do you send it? – You don’t, your entries are to be posted here through the comment section; at the bottom of this post. But of course you have to leave your email address so I can contact you in case you’ve won.

Now, the most important part, the prize. Well you know this is Fashion Re-View, right? So there’s absolutely no cash. But you might want to have your very own Avon Personal Match Concealer Stick in natural shade which originally costs $9 (convert to Peso, around Php 399 depending on the exchange rate- LOL).

So how do I pick the winner? – The winner of this contest is the person who has submitted a pretty interesting tips and advice on the subject. I know that falls to be too subjective, but this is my contest, remember?

Are you entitled to only one entry? – No! You can post as many tips and advice as you can so long as they are all original (copyright laws J). The more tips and advice you post on the comment the more chances you have for winning.

When do you know that you’ve won? – Winner of this contest will be announced on August 27, 2007. The winning entry shall be posted on this blog on that same day. So it’s very important that you drop by the blog on that day.

So are you ready? Get your fingers and brains busy now!

For a soft and non-chappy lips, try dabbing it with honey at night. It not only repairs the lips but it's yummy as well! - pink_girl_mimi@yahoo.com

I noticed that there are only few submitted entries here. So to add up the fun, I would contribute this tip:

To achieve a natural rosy white pigment on your lips and cheeks, dab on pea-sized amount of crushed siling labuyo. You will be guaranteed to achieve that red glow in just seconds!

For soft and non-chapped lips, Put Petroleum Jelly overnight. It's not harmful. It will help skin from getting dry.

Physical wellness and beauty tools need not be expensive nor hard to find. Here are some essential tips I learned from experience, in keeping your face & body in tip-top shape without burning a whole in your pocket:

To take out the redness and swelling off pimples, apply a dab of toothpaste on it & leave overnight to allow fast-drying. If you have sensitive skin (or if you're a teeny bit wary of the thought of toothpaste on your face), use eyedrops or ice on the pimple instead. (ice works well to reduce redness in blemishes as well!)

When a nose patch isn't available, try using Scotch tape or any sticky tape to remove blackheads.

If dry skin is your problem, I suggest DOVE body soap. It leaves your skin moisturized throughout the day. Applying lotion as a daily routine helps heaps too. Choose a lotion with Aloe as it has properties to aid dry and flaky skin.

For pseudo foundation during those rush moments, splash some cold water on your face. It temporarily freshens you up & evens out the skin tone. For an oily face, use tissue or maybe a towel to gently rub & absorb facial oil. Biting your lips can bring an instant mock-lipstick look...and for on-the-spot blush? Slap your cheeks (gently) to give you a temporary glow.

Sleepy eyes can be remedied by applying some brown eyeliner on your top eyelid, just above the eyelashes.

The most basic beauty tip? Drink lots and lots of water. It hydrates & cleans the skin as well as the rest of the body.

(PS. Bad breath a problem? This quick solution can work. either gargle with water + baking soda, or have a few bites of a cucumber or an apple.)

Last-second Breath Fresheners:

Want to taste sweet? Munch on a maraschino cherry. Smooching will taste so much better.

Wanna taste zesty? Chew a thin slice of lemon, (or any local version of citrus). This helps neutralize the odours.

How 'bout tasting fresh? Parsley always does the trick. (a sprig of mint will do your mouth good too...)

And for those night-life bar-hoppers, if you want to taste "down & dirty", try popping a martini olive in your mouth. Does the trick every single time :)
