Lipstick Tips

Lipsticks are one of the important cosmetic in every girl. These will help them look better and not so pale in their everyday life and in their very special day but it can also destruct our day if we wear a wrong color of lipstick. So we must choose a right color of lipstick to make our day perfect.

In choosing the right lipstick, you need to think of your lifestyle and what situations will you wear this kind of lipstick.

For example, you are going to work and you are wearing a deep purplish burgundy, you may look scary at working time.

You should also consider your skin tone.

Your lipstick must match to your skin tone. Also, remember to take a look at the size of you lips. If you have a look-a-like Angelina Jolie lips, use the darker color of lipstick because darker colors can make your lips look smaller. Then vice versa to the small sized lips, who should consider using lighter shades and not to use darker because their lips will look smaller than as it is.

The time of the day should also be considered. Keep lighter colors at daytime and darker colors at night.

The lip liner that you will use must be darker than your lipstick but in the same color family.

You should also remember the texture of the lipstick. You may try using the matte. If you think that the matte is too dry, why not trying to use the lipstick with creamy texture.

You should also choose the lipstick that is durable, that will not make you reapply two or more times a day.

This will sure help you in choosing the best lipstick for you. The lipstick that will surely fit and will complete your day’s outfit.

Face Shape Knowledge = Perfect Hairstyle

In choosing the best hair style for you, you must know the shape of your face. This can tell you what hairstyles are perfect for you. Some people are outlining their face on the mirror by using lipstick. But here’s a scientific way to know the shape of your face:

You will need a tape measure or ruler in doing these steps.

1. Measure your face across the top of your cheekbones. Write down the measurement on a piece of paper.

2. Measure across your jaw line from the widest point to the widest point. Write down the measurement.

3. Measure across your forehead at the widest point. Generally the widest point will be somewhere about halfway between your eyebrows and your hairline. Write down the measurement.

4. Measure from the tip of your headline to the bottom of your chin.

If you are still not sure of the results, ask a friend that you trust to help you determine your shape. Or ask your stylist. Don't forget that everyone will have their own opinion. If you get mixed opinions ask several people until you see a trend.

Another way to find your shape is to study the faces of celebrities to compare your own look. Many celebrities are almost as famous for their face shape as their hair color, length and style.

Face Dimensions

Here are some common shapes of face. If it will not fit your face, maybe the shape of yours is a combination of the shapes.

Oval Face - Length equal to one and a half times width. An oval face may change according to weight gain or loss and age. It is common for people who have a classic oval face to have small features.

Round Face - If you have a round face your face will be as wide as it is long. This may vary a little where your face is not quite as wide as it is long, but within 1/4 to 1/2 inches.

Long/Rectangular - Longer than it is wide.

Heart - Narrow at jaw line, wide at forehead and cheekbones.

Square - If you have a square shape your forehead, jaw line and cheekbones are almost equal in width.

Triangular - Wider forehead that narrows gradually to a slightly pointed or rounded chin.

Diamond - Wide cheeks, narrow forehead and jaw line. May have a pointed chin.

Pear - Wide chin with a narrow forehead.

Matching the Best Hairstyle

If your face is round, the best hairstyles generally include:

1. Layered bangs rather than straight or heavy bangs.

2. Short styles which give height.

3. Styles that add length.

4. Styles that keep the sides of your hair short or close to the face.

5. Curls around the crown -- but never near the cheeks -- to create height. Keep the sides of your hair short with a curly style.

6. Longer to very long styles, with bangs and graduated shag or layers so that the face and the neck are given a slenderizing shape.

Girls with oval face, why not try to have a classic long style with a center or side part and hair cascading to the shoulders.

Heart shape face people must focus on the styles that add width from the jaw line downwards to balance a pointy or prominent chin. Try the side-swept fridges or deep side parts that will visually break up the width.

People with square shape of face may soften the sharp edges and angles of the face with muted layers and rounded hairstyles. Try a side-swept fringe worn with long layered waves that play up cheekbones. Hair should either be long enough to cascade to the tops of the shoulders or if shorter, should end either just above or below the jaw line. Avoid harsh center partings, blunt cut bangs and all one length styles.

Rectangular face-shape may add body and volume along the sides. Avoid wearing tresses long and stick straight or it will add unwanted length to the face.

Diamond/Triangle shape of face can select styles that add softness and width at the cheekbones and fill out a pointed chin. Hairstyles that utilize sleek side panels to slim the wide cheekbone areas are flattering. Add fullness around the forehead and chin to form a more balanced oval appearance.

While girls with Pear/Inverted Heart shape of face have the widest at the jaw line with graduated narrowing upwards from the cheeks to the forehead. Add width to the top half of the face with carefully constructed texture from the cheeks upwards. Experiment with soft height added to the crown area.

Now are you ready to be at your best? :)

Hair Color Tips

Most women always want to look different. And the most common way they use to alter their looks is by changing their hair colors.

While some women look good with just any colors, some would probably need lots of thinking.

Sallow skin with yellow undertones will not match the deep gold blonde. While if you have pink skin, avoid the strawberry shades. Skin that is pale will not match the super dark tones because you might look like older or ghostly.

There are basically four types of highlights: basic foil highlights, Bali age or 'hair painting', chunking or 'piecing' and low lighting.

If you are a first timer in coloring your hair, the best to use is the semi permanent color. Semi permanent colors wash out after few baths while the permanent colors requires the hair to grow in order it to return from its original color. If you don’t like the color of the semi permanent, you can use the shampoo with 'ammonium laurel sulfate' to wash away the color faster.

Having your hair colored involves money, so you must take care of your investment by proper after-color care. Use a color enhancing and conditioner once a week to refresh the color of your hair.

Having highlights or lowlights, you can avoid having your whole head colored by asking your stylist to do your hairline, crown and part. But I am warning you that Foil highlights require precise application and fixing dark roots is nearly impossible. Ask about easier to maintain highlighting techniques.

SHOE-sing the best shoes for you

Are you worried for the kind of shoe you will wear for a special night? Well then these are some tips I’ve researched for you.

First and foremost, think about qualities like shoe fabric, style, comfort, fit, heel height, shoe widths, price and of course.

In choosing the color of the shoe, you must know the color of the gown so that you will know what color of the shoe that will match perfectly to your trend. Of course don’t choose the shoe that is ugly to look at when with your gown or too pretty to match your gown.

The style of your shoe must be comfortable that you will surely love. In which you can wear for a long time. Be sure that the style of the shoe will also match with your gown, that the shoe will complement the gown and not catching more attention than your gown. The height of the heel maybe similar to the height of the heel that you are wearing daily so that it will be more comfortable. This means that high heels are not really required as long as you are comfortable and it matches your dress.

The fabric and the texture of the shoe that you will choose must also match your gown for a perfect outfit.

You can check more suggestions for a nice shoe at promshoe.com. Hoping that this can help you match in choosing the right shoe you will choose.

Nail Styles

A good outfit requires a beautiful hairstyle. But if you really want to have hit look, then also have yourself fabulous nails.

Yes, your nails. The elegance of your dress and make-up will be put to nothing if your nails speak otherwise. Remember, these reflect your characteristics and personality (too grade school, right?!).

Now if you want to get a set of beautiful and stylish nails, then here are some tips:

Nail Patterns

Create nail patterns by cutting a “band-aid” into patterns and stick it on top of a dry coat of color polish. Apply another color over the previous coat and the band-aid and let dry. You have to be extra careful on getting the band-aid because it’s easy to be ruined. When you peel off the band-aid you'll have a design the color of the lower coat.

Band-aids are good because its glue isn’t meant to be harsh on the skin. Plus the fact that it peels of easily.

And don’t you just love the small holes that it leaves that serves as a pattern?

Marble Effect

A marble effect on the nail can be done by first putting on about an inch or two of water on a container. Get two or three colors of nail polish that you like and add a few drops of each into the water and swirl the nail polish around using a toothpick.

Dip you nail in the container but make sure you dip it into a transparent-type swirl. If you dipped it into the solid looking stuff, all you would get on your nail is a big round glob of nail polish. Wait for the polish to dry then use a nail polish remover to take off all the excess colors on your nails. And viola! Nails with marble effect!

These two styles are just some ways to add spice to your dull and ordinary looking nails. Feel free to experiment and discover all the styles you can use.

The Secret to Hair Fashion

Before styling your hair, straightening it will help you make styling easier, especially if you like curls.

Your hair has a big role in completing your outfit. Be sure that your hairstyle matches your dress. If your problem is that your hair is too dry, run a conditioner to your hair to eliminate frizz. This will help most because even you will use mouse or spray, your hair will not be crispy.

In choosing your hairstyles, straight is very trendy today also the curls, especially the tiny curls. The traditional French twist always work at any occasion.

Here are some tips for a hairstyle that can help you:

If you want just a classic style of hair, brush your hair back in a tight ponytail leaving a small section of the pony tail underneath. Wrap what was left out around the pony tail holder. Use bobby pins to secure the loose hair, but try to keep them hidden. Remember that the tighter the hair, the less you will have to spend time restyling later that night when you're having fun. Don't make the ponytail either too high or too low, and use a little bit of hair spray - sleek it down with your fingertips to decrease any flyways.

If you want a romantic look for a very special day, pull half of your hair up form your ears to the top of your head. Tie the hair back in a ponytail and divide the hair into small or large section (whichever you prefer). Twist the sections and tie them up, leaving the tips loose to flutter. Then secure with bobby pins (the more the better, as long as they are concealed). Leave the rest of your hair hanging straight (use a straightening iron if your hair is naturally wavy or curly) and use conditioner to eliminate frizz.

If you want a girlie look, start with a small part of your hair to the side. Brush your hair back and to the opposite side of the part (below your ears). Tie your hair back on the side with a cute ponytail holder that matches your dress, and let your hair fall over the front of your shoulders. You can brush out some of the hair from the top so that it is loose and has volume. For those that have layers, let the shorter ends fall loose but keep them all to one side.
