Meet your Match

I must admit I am not really a fashion guru, not even an expert of any sort. But one thing’s for sure, I love fashion! I love to dress up, I love to experiment, and most of all, I love to mix and match. Now that we’ve mentioned about mix and match, let’s do a little bit of a mix and match today to give you a perfect get-up for the cold winds of December.

So it’s starting to get cold, but this should never be a reason to be left out of fashion, least to be monotonous. And what does monotonous mean in fashion? – Dowdy. So what’s up for today’s “experiment”?

For tops: A sexy sweatshirt dress just right to keep you warm and just right to keep you in fashion.

The match: Opaque tights to give an illusion of long and shapely legs that’s just perfect for the cold season.

Why it’s hot: Well the sweatshirt dress is one hot frock to stock in your closet for this season while the opaque tights is latest thing to replace the leggings. Mixing and matching them would definitely make a chic and standout look. Glamorous, fabulous, whatever you call it, this would be an “in” thing for the season!

Handbags Guide

For girls like me, handbags are one best friend! It’s perfect for making fashion statements and most of all it’s perfect for carrying the essentials – wallet, cellphone, pressed powder, lip gloss, face blot, comb… Okay, I just said essentialS, right?

However, not all handbags prove helpful to all. Sometimes what you consider a help turn out to be a liability. So what are the things to consider in getting a handbag?

Here are 3 easy questions to help you ponder for your choice fresh from InStyle UK:

Functionality: How easy is the bag to carry around? Consider its shape and weight. - When the bag proves to be heavier than the items you put in, dish it out!

Safety: How does the bag fasten? Does it have a substantial zip or pocket to keep pickpockets at bay? After all, we want to keep our belongings secure and safe, right?

Desire: Do you love it? Try not to be too led by trends or brands. If you buy a bag you really love, you will use it more often and it will last much longer. You see it’s easy to discard items you don’t love. What a waste of money!

Now, weren’t that easy to remember?

Beauty Tools to be Beautiful

Certainly, beauty comes with a price. You want to look and feel beautiful- spend! Well excuse me for those who believe that beauty is only skin deep; that’s sheer sourgraping.

Anyway, if you think that make-ups (along with procedures) are the answer, then think again ‘coz these paints are nothing without these tools.

Here’s a list of items that should be added in make-up kit.

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler ($18)

One thing that makes the eyes shine are the lashes. So if you could make your lashes really, really long, then you’re a definite winner. And how else could you make that extra length but with this eyelash curler by Shu Uemura.

To use, position your elbow on a solid surface and place the curler at the base of your lashes, press the handles together and hold for a few seconds, release, and viola! Sexy curls in seconds.

Sonia Kashuk Foundation Sponge ($6)

One rule of thumb in applying make-up: the foundation does the secret. So if you want to apply your foundation perfectly, use a perfect foundation sponge that would better navigate the creases in your face.

Just run it under water, squeeze out and dab it in your foundation.

Clarins Eye Contour Brush ($24)

The eyes do all the wonder. So if you manage to blend your eye shadow perfectly, then you’re ready to steal the limelight. But to do that you’ll need fine tipped brush that would do the blending in the crease and outer corners of your eyes.

This tool is also perfect for that smoky eye look.

Christian Dior Backstage Makeup Oil Blotting Paper ($21)

No excess oil is welcome for a fresh morning look. Just dab one blotting paper onto skin and let it soak everything up!

Nars Kabuki Botan Brush ($75)

This tool do all the tricks for swooshing mineral makeup, blush, powder, highlighter, and everything powder-y!

The brush is large enough to perfectly define your cheekbones.

Well these are just some of the tools you should have to get that perfect beautiful look. And yes, they all come with price tags.
