Hair Color Tips

Most women always want to look different. And the most common way they use to alter their looks is by changing their hair colors.

While some women look good with just any colors, some would probably need lots of thinking.

Sallow skin with yellow undertones will not match the deep gold blonde. While if you have pink skin, avoid the strawberry shades. Skin that is pale will not match the super dark tones because you might look like older or ghostly.

There are basically four types of highlights: basic foil highlights, Bali age or 'hair painting', chunking or 'piecing' and low lighting.

If you are a first timer in coloring your hair, the best to use is the semi permanent color. Semi permanent colors wash out after few baths while the permanent colors requires the hair to grow in order it to return from its original color. If you don’t like the color of the semi permanent, you can use the shampoo with 'ammonium laurel sulfate' to wash away the color faster.

Having your hair colored involves money, so you must take care of your investment by proper after-color care. Use a color enhancing and conditioner once a week to refresh the color of your hair.

Having highlights or lowlights, you can avoid having your whole head colored by asking your stylist to do your hairline, crown and part. But I am warning you that Foil highlights require precise application and fixing dark roots is nearly impossible. Ask about easier to maintain highlighting techniques.
