Me and My Shoes

More than two months ago, I ordered a pair of shoes online at one of my favorite online stores; http://methilation.multiply.com/.

Well I was really looking forward to wearing that pair for our Christmas get-together. Sadly, the shoes didn’t come on time due to some shipping problems.

When it finally reached my doorstep about the last week of January, I was really disappointed that the shoes didn’t fit; it was SUPER big. It was my fault actually for not taking my shoe size carefully. So I had to ask the site’s owner to have my size 8 shoes replaced by size 7 ½ . Unfortunately, there were no more smaller sizes for the shoes I chose so I had to pick for a new design.

Browsing to the site’s other designs, this pair of Pandora heels caught my attention; it was sleek, it was chic, and definitely very sexy! Thus, I wasted no time ordering the pair.

But like a really unfortunate event, turns out 7 ½ is still really big! I had to re-ship the pair again and have it changed with a smaller size, 7.

Finally, after more than two months of various misfortunes, my Pandora pair that fits perfectly has arrived. I love it! It was all the wait after all.

Considering a Change of Career

It has been almost a year since I started blogging about fashion; well that includes Hollywood celebrities, shopping, beauty, and the trends. It was of course a wonderful experience sharing about the things I truly enjoy and love writing about. This blog, along with my Celebrity Fashion Watch blog is my outlet of sharing the kikay in me.

However, since I am already maintaining two blogs about fashion, I thought of adding another blog with an entirely different topic. One that would really make people think as something way out of my league. Say, a blog about online casino, gadgets, computer games, or something about the earth and the environment.

Oh my, I can’t help but giggle with the thought. It seems like I’ve gotten too accustomed to writing stuff about fashion that writing about casinos with best bonuses or about global warming do send smile on my face.

But actually I really am considering the thought. Imagine me talking about the latest technology and gadgets rather than the latest in the runway, huh?!

Awesome!

Fashion…. NOT

Are you one of those who can’t have enough of fashion? Or one of those who can’t take too much of fashion? Well either way, there is a room for you online.

If you consider yourself belonging on the first, then there’s yours truly, Fashion Re-View and Celebrity Fashion Watch to give you the latest trends and latest scoops in fashion and celebrity fashion, respectively.

You know it ain’t easy maintaining this kind of blogs. One has to be “fashion-driven” and persistent in finding the best materials for your posts; two or three references is actually not enough to come up with quality and up to date fashion-related entries.

However, no matter how good a fashion blog is, if one isn’t really interested in the subject, then there’s no way transforming that person in to a fashionista. Like it or not, they are those who belong to the latter choice.

They are those who’d rather get themselves in online casino games than read about the latest hits and misses in the fashion industry. The ones who would rather check the list of the best casino sites than check best look of the day at InStyle.

With these types of people sprawling the Internet, whether you are a fashion blogger or not, one shouldn’t be really hard on oneself if he/she can’t get more readers for his/her blog. Fashionista or not, the Internet is after all a matter of choice.

Florals are in this Spring

For Spring 2008, fashion takes its saccharin side with floral prints and designs from head to toe. This would be the season for those with girly and sweet personalities.

Now let’s start from hair accessories through these glossy and colorful France Luxe Mini Solid Rectangle Jaw hair clips. They’re sweet, they’re cute, and they’re absolutely charming. Check theses pieces out at franceluxe.com for $18.

Spring’s trend would not be complete without a perfect mix-and-match of shirts. Try layering this printed blouse over a floral button-down. Try Boden tank and shirt at $74 and $68, respectively.

Want a demure yet chic floral inspired look? Why don’t you try this swingy style full skirt paired with gladiator sandals? You can get this skirt at Worthington by JCPenney for $44.

Can’t get enough with flowers? Zappos.com offers Skechers – Sweet Pea in natural floral canvas. This pair is just enough for girls who love to have fun in the sun and is available for $50.95

Finally, to complete your floral collection for this spring, this vibrant, floral-printed bag from Stella McCartney is just perfect. Have one of these bags for $98.

There you have it; floral prints for spring trends. Cute and charming they are, but remember, unless you want to look like a flower vase, you can’t wear them all at the same time.

Hayden Panettiere for Candie's

She’s fresh, she’s young, she’s hot, she’s a ‘hero,’ and now she is the new face for Candie’s clothing line for girls this spring of 2008. – Hayden Panettiere.

Yes, you read it right; the Heroes hottie is Candie’s latest endorser.

Shot at New York’s Serendipity 3, the ad campaign featured a sweet, casual, and flirty Hayden over pink and silver backdrops. Wait a minute... is this a set of Clueless or just another Legally Blonde flick? Pink, pink, and pink everywhere… SO GIRLY!

Well I guess Candie’s sure did a right choice with Hayden. With a face as sweet as that no girls (and boys for that matter) can resist buying from the store.

Foot Talk

Oh, Prada, Prada, Prada… All the girls want ‘em but not all can have ‘em…

Sigh, I guess I am just one of those girls who dreamed of having a pair of Prada shoes someday. With its sleek designs, unique looks, and of course the ‘fame’ and ‘glamour’ that comes with the name, surely, every fashionista would want to get hold of these precious product.

For their Autumn/Winter 2008-2009 Collection at the Milan Fashion Week, Prada showcased various pairs that promise nothing but sheer elegance and fashion (not to mention weight). Noticeably, most pairs are set in deep and rich metallics like gold and bronze; so yes metallics are still so in for the coming season.

Metallics. – Still in. Stilettos? – Where are they? Have you noticed the latter has lesser ‘exposure’ in the runway at the fashion week? Hmmm…

Check some of the pairs Prada has to offer in the coming season.

The earrings I fell in love with

I’m probably one of those who really are a sucker for charming dangling earrings. And when I saw this pair of chandelier earrings from Jose and Maria Barrera I just can’t help but fall in-love with it.

Being made of fire-polished glass, Austrian hematite crystal, gunmetal-plated pewter setting, and black diamond drops, it is quite impossible to go unnoticed wearing this lovely pair whether you are walking down the streets or attending some party.

Although the accessory is a bit of a luxury with a price of $275, I guess having to wear something with a touch of glamour and class makes it all worth it.

Lilac: The New Color of Romance

For the Spring/Summer 2008 fashion trend, designers seem to have added ‘sweetness’ in their collection through silks and chiffons made in various shades of purple.

Although I’m actually not really a fan of runways nor a fan of any famous designer, I think this kind of style is perfect for who are into their romantic and passionate sides.

For one, lilac is a very feminine color; its classy and sophisticated, it’s daring but not bold. Add to that, with frocks made from soft jerseys, airy tulles, and satins there definitely is an air of glamour.

If you are curious of what various designers has to offer for this trend, here’s what they’ve got.

Alberta Ferreti

Marc Jacobs

Marni

Michael Kors

Narciso Rodriguez

Tips and guide for a perfect prom look

Prom dresses are obviously the number one concern of most girls’ prom plan list. What to wear; long gown or cocktail? What shade of gown; sweet, daring, or classic? The worries may seem to be endless. But here’s a tip, don’t stress yourself too much wanting to get the perfect prom look.

Plan ahead and try to follow this guide to achieve the best look for the prom.

One tip of a hand is to know your assets and weak points. Highlighting your best points is actually the key in shining for the prom. This would be your lead on what to wear and what not to wear on that special night.

So if you think you have long and shapely legs, then show it off with sexy cocktail dresses. If you seem to have a not-so-fab arms, then sport on a capped-sleeve dress or something over a sophisticated wrap. Your complexion will also be your guide in choosing your frock’s hue, pale shades wash out ivory skinned people while strong hues make morenas look even darker. The point here is to choose a dress that will make you feel beautiful to look beautiful.

In addition to that, remember that less is more. You need not reveal too much skin to look sexy nor wear sequined dresses from head-to-toe to literally glitter. True glamour comes with confidence and comfort.

Finally, remember to put your personality with your look. Project the best in you and not become somebody you are not.

Look your best and enjoy the prom with friends and schoolmates. It is after all not a competition.
